Save Cranston’s Open Space was formed in the Spring of 2007 when a big-box development proposal was submitted to the City for Mulligan’s Island Golf and an adjoining city-owned ball field.  Since then, SCOS has been an active group who not only values protecting the neighborhoods of Cranston, but helping residents and groups throughout Cranston.
May 2007-Community meeting regarding the original Churchill & Banks’ proposal had over 100 attendees.
October 2007-the Pawtuxet River Authority (PRA) held their 2nd Annual Pocasset River Clean-up and 12 SCOS members assisted with their efforts.
October 2007-SCOS held a successful Steak Fry to assist with our efforts.  Thank you to our sponsors!
